Christmas in July

Our United Methodist Men’s Annual Food, Clothing
and Fund Drive for the Norcross Cooperative Ministry
Several major factors create this need at this time of the year.

Schools are closed for the summer, thus creating a further strain on families to provide breakfast and lunch for their children that during the school year are provided by school lunch programs. There has also been an increase of unemployment throughout the Gwinnett area which directly affects needs of families served by NCM.

The NCM’s coverage area includes 20 churches and 15 schools in 8 different zip codes and serves over 900 families monthly.  (per, Shirley Cabe, NCM Director)

The specific food needs at this time are:

Jelly, Macaroni & Cheese, Crackers, Jell-O, Instant Pudding
Spaghetti Sauce, Spaghetti Noodles and other Pasta

Canned Meats:  Spam, Corned beef, chicken, etc.,

Meals in a Can:  Ravioli, Beef Stew, etc.

There is also a need for cash donations

Checks should be written to the church (SUMC) and denoted
“UMM Christmas in July ”

Needs other than food:

Diapers: Size 4,5,and 6
Clothing for school age children
Clothing for infants and toddlers
Pots and Pans
Plastic Grocery Sacks

Collection boxes are in the the Family Life Center and the
reception area of the Education Building.
