How can I find steps to peace ... eternal salvation?

I've never really been to church, how can I get a practical introduction to my faith journey?

Each quarter, we offer a New Member and Visitor class that focuses on getting plugged in to the church body at Simpsonwood and as a universal church.  Part of this course is helping you understand where your faith is and how you can develop that faith.

If I have already been baptized, do I need to be baptized again when I join the church?

No.  The United Methodist Church believes that you only have to be baptized once.  Most UM churches will baptize you as an infant and your parents take the vows to raise you in a Christian environment.  Then once you are old enough to accept the vows for yourself, you go through Confirmation and accept those vows.

What can you tell me about communion?

Communion is offered several times throughout the year.  Traditionally, we offer communion during our morning worship services on the first Sunday of each month in addition to special healing and worship services.  Communion is one of two sacraments of the United Methodist Church (Baptism being the other).  We believe that communion is symbolic of the flesh and blood shed for our sins by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
